does anyone let there guinea pigs have half the shed ,(ie there hutch isin there but they can free range inthe shed ,with a layer of newspaper then some hay on top on the floor>would this be ok to do ?

Yep that would be fine - in fact more than fine! Some guineas just live on the shed floor! Make sure there are no escape routes (or entrances for rats or mice). Some little boxes or pigloos would be nice for them too. Good luck - it's a brill idea (my hubby wont let me! :tickedoff

To add to the above I would make sure that there is some sort of insulation on the floor as it can be extremely cold. I would also be tempted to line it with lino to make it easier to clean.
