Hullo! I am Mum to two piggies called Rapunzel and Piggy Bank (named by my kids!)

They are outside in a lovely cage with a run underneath and last winter they fared well in there with just a cover over to stop the rain. However, this winter I would like to put them in the playhouse that the kids don't use much.

To protect the floor in case the kids want to use it again I have ordered some correx - thank you for all the useful posts on here about that! I've not used the stuff before so I have a couple of questions...

My plan is to put some carpet directly on the wood floor underneath the correx for warmth. The I want the correct to cover the entire floor area which is just 112 x 112cm. The sheets I have ordered are 100cm x 200cm and I have ordered 3 to be sure.

Now, how would you go about assembling this? If I make one huge box I won't get it in the door of the playhouse, but I don't think there's enough room to put it together inside the playhouse either. I know I have to tape some sheets together, so I have bought some ducktape for this. Am I better off laying the correx on the floor and just starting by cutting it square and then making walls after and slotting them in? I do have some cubes that I can use if it will help to support the structure in any way and I also plan on making a second level by using the wire roof of a bought indoor cage that I have.

Any and all ideas are most welcome here! :)

Wow that sounds like it's going to be a piggy mansion. Could you not score the corex to fit outside the hut then place it inside? I hope someone answers your question.

Thanks for your reply Julie! I'm not sure... Is correct quite flexible? Do you think it might bend enough to fit through the door? I'm going to see if i can upload photos for a better visual...

Here's the playhouse, excuse the kiddy stuff about the place. Guess it gives perspective though! :) Underneath is the wire top bit from the indoor cage I was going to try to use as a second level. I figured if I tie-wrapped it sturdy and added a safe ramp with a correx floor it could work. It will also be a nice warm place too - thinking about adding carpet to the roof of it, under the correx floor of the second level?

Then there's their current home. I moved it from the grass yesterday to give it a bit of a break, but they're usually on the lawn. I think the playhouse will be nicer for the colder months. Plus, if I can get away with it I may just add a permanent run plus a cat flap once winter is over with. :D

It depends what thickness of corex you buy. But I think you should be able to flex it enough to fit. You might need to add some kind of insulation to the walls I the play hut too so it's warm enough. (I think there is a thread on "insulating sheds" just search for that as I am not an expert) hope all goes well and keep us posted. ;)

Thank you for your reply! Yes, I had read about insulating too. Well my correx is here and it's thinner than I expected and bendy so fingers crossed!
