Height off ground

Bit of a strange post this ...

Currently my 3 girls live in a cc cage in our living room. They are on the floor which is not ideal, so we have been planning to raise them.

We have now decided to make a new home for them, and incorporate raising them off the floor. Part of the reason for this is to make them more secure because we have friends with small children who peer down at them and unintentionally scare them. The main reason is that we are 'inheiriting' an elderly cat :.... She has met them and is not interested, but still want them out of the way (obviously will never leave them alone in room together).

My question is - can you raise gps too high off ground? Sounds odd, but we have low windows. OH thinks that they will be scared if they are window height (won't open window!), but they would be more secure.

I know it sounds odd, am a little stressed about the prospect of making our house guinea and cat happy! Surely they won;t be scared by being able to see out of a window? ?/

i wouldnt of thought being able to see out of the window would scare them just be careful of draughts from the window causing a chill. i dont think they can be too high as long as they cant jump out and fall.

if you think two tier hutches are quite high and triple tier even higher.

Hadn't thought of the tiered cages, thanks for that. Window seems draft free but I do keep checking it! (Bit of an over protective guinea mum - even have a baby room thermometer by their cage!)

thats ok good luck moving them up i think being over protective is build into us lol
