So I invested in heat pads for my guinea pigs. It’s been pretty cold over the past few days so I have been putting them in their hideys and heating them up when needed. It’s abit warmer tonight than it has been, should I take them out of the cage or keep them in not that they are used to them? Thanks!

It's probably better to put one in just in case they want to lay down on it

I would put the heat pads in. If piggies get too warm they just move off them or they move the hidey so that the hidey is no longer on the heat pad.

I have a disc shape one with a velcro cover with paw prints. Is this a snuggle safe? It has worked wonders for bloat recovery

Yep that's a snugglesafe I have one of thoughs works wonders just Chippy hasn't worked out that it can be slept on top of.😊

Yes that’s the ones we have! I’ve put them in the hideys they seem to like them xx

Sounds like it's a snuggle safe. I now have 5 of these: 1 for each piggie. I am thinking I may need more as they have all discovered there is now a top level to the hutch after I put some carpet on the ramp. Maybe I need 5 more so there are 5 on the bottom and 5 on the top! (goodbye extra money:bye:I'd saved for the vet fund)

The first year (I had no idea snugglesafe existed) I used a microwavable cushion thing with a monkey cover but he had to leave because Chippy got to his stitching ☹️

Do you use them in the day aswel as at night?

My piggies are outside in my shed so snugglesafes are essential for me. I have four of them between my two piggies. I put in two if the temperature is between 10 and 15 degrees and put in all four if it is below 10 degrees. That is day or night.
They are fab though. I was out all day yesterday and temp in their hutch had gone down to just 7 degrees early yesterday evening when I fed them (snugglesafes had been in all day and had cooled). I heated them back up and within two hours the four snugglesafes had warmed the hutch from 7 to 14 degrees - they are worth every single penny and I too am probably going to get a few more for the bottom level of their hutch!
