Hello all.

I have a 1 year old skinny pig, George who has been diagnosed with heart failure along with fluid on her lungs. She was diagnosed after christmas and initially prescribed 1/4 Cardisure tablet twice a day along with 0.6ml Frusol twice a day. The frusol was increased to 4 times per day when the fluid hadn't cleared. On her last vets visit a different vet wanted to PTS and let her go home for end of life care, I wanted to try Spironolactone which we have with the option of frusol up to 6 times per day.

3 weeks later and George is still raspy, not all of the time anymore (stress of my giving her medication makes it worse). Other than that she seems happy and eats/drinks as much as my other piggies.

I have read that the frusol causes deficiencies such as magnesium and wondered whether anyone has any advice on supplementing this?
I have also read about co-enzyme Q10 having a posititve effect with guinea pigs with CHF but cannot find any information on doses, does anyone know how much I should give her? Despite eating she is loosing weight but weighs approximately 850g.

Thank you, any help or advice would be gratefully received.
