Healing vibes for Ella please. Eye injury 😞

We woke up this morning to discover that Ella has an eye injury likely a hay poke and her vets are closed today 😞 I’ve managed to get her an appointment at Vets4pets for this afternoon. I’ve never used the Rochdale branch with guinea pigs so I hope they’re ok. Lots of healing vibes would be appreciated. She only had a hay poke a couple of months ago. First her tooth and now this on top of Elizabeth’s lump 😞
 
Sending healing vibes 💓 to Ella! Glad you were able to get her an appointment for this afternoon. I'm sure she'll be fine once she's got the necessary meds; eye injuries being similar for most pets I should think the vet will be good enough even if they aren't that experienced with piggies. Though the time and expense of an emergency vet visit is never welcome 😬
 
I'm sorry to hear this, health issues always seem to come at the exact same time.

Thank you. As it’s the vets inside pets at home, I’m hoping they’re just going to charge me a normal consultation fee but I’m not sure 😞
 
Oh Ella! Thankfully eyes are the one thing that any regular vet should be able to treat with ease. As it's only just happened let's hope for a quick recovery for her

It’s great you have a vet appt today - the sooner Ella gets the right meds the better
I’ve used Vets4pets before - not the Rochdale one - and they were really good
 
Good luck Ella. I’m sure the vets will be ok with eye issues.
 
Hope all goes well for Ella. Haypoke always happens at the most inconvenient of times!
 
Just home from the vets. The vet pulled a grass seed from Ella’s eye and she has a nice corneal ulcer 😞 but she has chlorophenicol eye drops to give 3 times a day and corneal repair gel and has to go back in a week. My purse is feeling considerably lighter but my poor girl 😞
 
Glad Ella got the seed removed. You did so well to take her !

Ella’s eye is looking better but it’s a nightmare getting the drops in to her as she moves just as I squeeze the bottle. Most of the drop is going in to her eye but not all. Same with the Remend repair gel 😞
