Hello, i have a year old female guinea pig, she was perfectly fine till yesterday morning but last night i wasnt home and my husband noticed she walked and tilted more on the left side, though she is eating fine and walking around. I am worried because this is india and where i live is not a big city to have vets who treats exotic or small animals, they barely know anything about them or never heard of them, they just prescribe multivitamins thats all, i have contacted nearly every vet in the city but no one is specialized or even ever treated one, i and my husband are doctors as well but not veterinary.
According to my husband she had excessive lacrimation from one eye at night and sudden head tilt, though there was no puss or any sign of infection in both the external ear. First thing comes into my mind after the symptoms was an infection. After researching and reading different forum all i could do on my own was giving antibiotic, so right now i gave her 1mg enrofloxacin to be on the safe side, though she is all sleepy right now, i was thinking maybe because of the antibiotic.
If any one had similar issues, have any advice, or any that could help, please help us.
She is a very cheerful piggy i cant see her like this, i just want to treat it at the right time whatever it is.

@Akanksha singh A vet with knowledge in guinea pigs would probably treat for an ear infection or ear mites. If she doesn't respond to the antibiotics then it may be worth trying an Ivermectin treatment like Xeno. You can buy that online.

I have just given a single dose, how much time should i wait to know that she is responding?

@Akanksha singh It can take a few days before it gets into her system. It is known for causing some pigs to lose interest in food and stop eating so please watch out for that.

You can offer probiotics 1.5 -2 hours after a dose of antibiotics to try to keep her digestive system on track.
