Those of you that use fleece to line your cages what do you do about the hay sticking? I've not been using fleece long and have only washed once but it was a MISSION!

They seem to be happier on fleece and it will save me a small fortune (costing about £12-16 a week with sawdust) but the hay gets all in my washing machine. I tried brushing/picking as much off as possible but it took a very long time :(

Hi there. I use a stiff brush and brush as much hay off outside as possible. Then I put the fleece into a horse washing bag. That keeps all hair and hay inside the bag, and when the fleece comes out of the wash it is clean, and the debris is caught in the bag and not the machine. Here is a link to a wash bag . wouldn't be without mine.

The large size fits my machine and takes the fleece liners from 2 c and c cages. It was a Eureka moment when I found out about tgesecwash bags (from the forum, of course :tu:)

It is a bit of a mission (don't even get me started on the fur). I give the fleece several flicks outside to get the majority of the off and then use a dust pan brush to remove the smaller sticky bit then put in the wash. I have yet to get one of those horse wash bags yet but i'm going to because everybody swears by them.
