Hay Tray

I readidn't a suggestion to instead of having a hay net or bowl, put their hay in a bigger tray so most of their poo stay in there instead of all over the cage.
Does anyone do that, do it help keep the cage cleaner?
 
i have a cat litter tray, lined with newspaper and Biocatolet cat litter then topped with lots of hay... Most of the poo goes in there but they still like to leave me little piles elsewhere !
 
I use hay trays because it helps keep hay off the fleece but they still poo and wee wherever they like!

they are not too bad.... but i won't lie.... most goes in the hay tray... then i find a neat little pile in a corner lol ! makes me laugh tho !
 
I just use a tray I got from the garden centre that is used for seeds or something. Put the hay in it and 80% of the poo goes in there. I have a corner tray too, they use that less, tbh it's there from my point of view to reduce places for them to dig under the fleece since mine like to do that.
 
:D I used to have litter trays made from Correx under the hay rack, as that is where they poop the most. The trays stopped the poops from being kicked everywhere. However, I have recently changed from trays to puppy pads. I figured it didn't matter if the poops got kicked about as they are easy to sweep up, and I don't have to worry about them eating the Correx! Plus it gives them more space to run about.
 
Another question, do you put their veggies in the hay tray too, any reason why that wouldn'the be a good idea? I'very been putting them in dishes, but if I put it all together it's going to give them more space, and again maybe keep more of the poo's in the team?
 
For me this is not true they poo EVERYWHERE I spend my life with a spoon and bucket lol . I don't put food in hay tray as they tend to see all over it if it's not in their veg Plates I hide it in toys or give it in floor time.m:)
