I'm just about to swap my pigs over from shavings to fleece (finally!). Pets at home didnt have any shavings in the last time I went in so I sewed like mad at the weekend and been washing them ready to swap over. I've completely ran out of shavings and they are disgusting and need doing tonight. However I completely forgot to get some paper bedding for their tray. I dont have newspapers either. But I do have chopped cardboard bedding I use for my other pets. Could I use a skinny layer at the bottom of their hay tray? Or will they dig through and eat it?

Thanks in advance everyone!

The cardboard bedding is fine.
I used to use it (Finacard) as a bedding under hay in their whole hutch
Lovely thank you. So if it works is it a possible long term solution for the bottom of the tray. I buy a big bag and it lasts me ages and quite cheap. (Or well it was the last time I bought it)
