Hay Through Ear!

Went to give my piggie Rita a cuddle tonight and she had a sharp long piece of hay punctured through her ear! (The outer bit) She was very agitated and stressed. I removed it and she keeps shaking her ear, has any one else ever had this? I'm sure she was very excited to get fresh hay and jumped straight in, I'm grateful it wasn't her eye!
 
I expect it was quite sore. Keep an eye on the area - just to make sure it doesn't get infected.
 
I would bath it in a little cooled boiled salt water for a few days.
 
Thank you everyone she seems fine today its probably just a little sensitive so will give it a clean later just to be on the safe side
 
It's amazing just how sharp hay can be. I hope she's doing ok.
 
:D Ouch! Oooh, that sounds nasty! I'm sure she'll be okay. Never heard of that happening before.
