Are there any recommendations for a hay feeder/rack? My piggies have a habit of trailing hay all around the cage, can’t seem to find any decent ones online

What about a hay bag they seem to be popular. I think there's also a thread showing you how to make one.

I use a hay tray, with litter underneath the hay to absorb any pee, I change the hay and litter often (hay multiple times a day, litter every couple of days)

I've tried them all & the hay bag is probably the most popular unfortunately if they want to throw it around they will. I have to keep pulling the hay to the front of the bag, mine are lazy. Mine will climb in the bag to get the hay, it's funny just seeing a bum hanging out. I keep the hay loose so they don't suffocate.

Sophie you should give your piggies fresh hay all the time. Unfortunately your method is not good they end of with hay that has been peed on.
We have a hay box with meadow hay like you, then bags with Timothy hay in.

We do, I top it up a lot, I can’t help the fact that they may pee on it
They have fresh hay available 24/7. We used a hay rack for a while (it was just an little box we’d made it into one) but they’ve always preferred the tray, it’s not really much different to putting it just on the base of the cage, as many seem to do
Of course I am always open to advice, but I can’t see any issue 🙂

I think you could get them online, but I don’t use them so I’m not sure what’s the best

My guinea pigs prefer peed on hay! I use trays and old pet carriers for hay as they like to sleep in it and burrow in it as well as eat it. I top mine up with fresh hay multiple times a day which keeps them interested in it and change the back to nature under it every other day or two. I have never found a bag or hay rack that works, they just pull it all out and sit on it anyway. As far as I'm concerned peeing on hay is a natural guinea pig behaviour.

Your piggies must be a lot like mine then 🤣

Thank you for your replies! Hay bag seems like it would be the best for my babies, should I make or buy one? If so where do you buy them?
There is a list somewhere on the forum of recommended shops who sell Guinea pig items a few of them sell hay bags ranging in price from about £5 -£6:50. There is also loads on eBay. There are also loads of videos on you tube showing how to make them. The easiest one I saw they made two hay bags out of a pillow case and used shower curtain hooks to hung it in the cage. I was going to make my own but haven't had the time yet but the pillow cases were £2 in Asda and the hooks were 50p in my local shop.
