Hi guys!

Saw Meep squinting and realised something wasn’t right, then looked at her eye and saw what looked like a thorn :((

Sterilised a q-tip and some tweezers with boiled water, let them cool, then extracted the thorn. Her eye is now red and sore, but she’s not squinting anymore.

I’ve gently wiped her eye with more cooled boiled water and gave her 0.2ml meloxidyl cat.

She seems better already and we have her booked in with our regular exotic vet tomorrow. Just checking is there anything I can do in the mean time?

Aw poor Meep 😞 But I bet she feels better now that nasty thorn is out.

Please don’t do anything until she has seen the vet who will have a look for corneal ulcers using a special dye and prescribe the correct treatment more than likely antibiotic eye drops. Please ask for corneal repair gel which will speed up the healing process if she does in fact have an ulcer

Will do! Thank you so much!

Poor Meep.
Having just had a piggy with hay poke it took less than a week of the antibiotic drops and corneal repair drops to heal completely.
Hope Meep’s eye heals just as quickly
