I’ve had Fluffy at the vet this morning as she had a hay poke. We’ve been given Loxicom, Isathal and Remend. I’m 99% sure I saw the hay in her eye this morning, and I tried to remove it but was worried about damaging it. We got the appointment for half an hour later, so I left it for the vet. The vet couldn’t see anything by the time I got there though. Is there a chance it could have dislodged? If I do see it again, what’s the best method for removal? It looked a few millimetres long, and was near her bottom eyelid. Of course I’m doubting myself that I ever saw it now!

Also, I think the remend is to keep the eye moist. The dosage is 5x per day, and the isathal twice. Should I give them separately? I don’t want to wash the isathal out. The vet didn’t mention anything, but I wondered if anyone had any experience.

If you see it again I’d try and get piggy to the vet rather than try to remove it yourself. Eyes are quite delicate and hay can scratch at them, even when you’re trying to remove. I’m not sure on the remind and isathal. Maybe put the isathal in then wait maybe 10mins and apply the remand? Hope she’s better soon.

Thanks, that’s what I thought when I saw it. I wouldn’t want to make things worse!

Yes it may have come out on its own. If the vet couldn’t see anything then I’d be reassured by that But if you do see it then definitely have the vet remove it.
My vet once found a cm long grass seed lodged under one of my boys eyelid.

Id definitely do the two meds separately leaving a hour or between the two. You could give the vet a ring to check though
