Hi all,

Just wondering how you do your vetbed. Our pig Bridget was nearly 5 when she came to us and freaked out with the vetbed so I covered it in hay and this made her happy. I now have two baby girls and started doing the same with them, then realised that I probably dont have to do this. Trouble is I have had them for four weeks and it is what they are used to!

Today I have only put hay upstairs in their adapted nero cage and they are not happy that there is no hay on the ground floor. I did just want to put hay where their food is which upstairs!

If I put it downstairs they wee all over it and it gets spoilt, whereas upstairs they poo but will not wee! I have tried a hay rack but they keep knocking it off the side of the cage.

Sorry to ramble....Any thoughts anyone?

Thanks for the reply, I may well try that. They are terrible little minxs though and would not put it past them to nibble on anything, including anything that I taped the hay rack with!

Sorry I am stealing someone elses suggestion here (this is one Jane (Nutmeg) told me about) Try a sock tied it to the cage with string. Then cut a hole in the toe and fill with hay from the bottom. It should limit amount of hay that to goes everywhere!

my boys are on vetbed and like a layer of hay in their respective dwellings. It's a pain to clean but as long as they're happy, I'm ok cleaning up.rolleyes
