Hi all!

I'm looking to change my hay brand for the girls. My local choices are limited so I'm looking into purchasing online, but that poses the risk of getting shoddy produce.

Can anyone recommend a good brand that's reliable in it's quality? I'm from Ireland so American sites are out (shipping costs too much!)

I'm not in a rush atm as grass season has just started and my girls are getting a healthy dose of fresh, spring grass each day :)

I regularly also buy from timothyhay.co.uk
In fact we had another delivery today. I’ve never had a bad batch from them

I use Natures Own Pets. It’s meadow hay rather than Timothy but it’s always great and my pigs love it.
No idea what their postage to Ireland is though

I use Natures Own and timothyhay.co.uk mostly, both very good quality and service. I have tried others and regretted it. I do sometimes buy burgess hays from vetuk which is good quality but only small bags. Have just tried the vetuk own brand the piggies love it!

I agree with timothyhay.co.uk! My pigs are very fussy and adore it. We’ve used it over 2 years now I think, always great quality!

You can always email them to request a sample from them too, I did that to make sure the pigs ate it.

We choose timothy hay because it’s lower in calcium and the pigs seem to prefer it to meadow! Plus it looks a lot more chic trodden into the carpet, it’s artistic... :))

I have recently switched over to dust free hay, I buy the American Timothy and have been very impressed with the quality. The hay is lovely and green with a good amount of seed heads which my piggies adore, also it really is dust free so great for my allergies. It is quite pricey though, I paid around £28 for 4kg but you do get what you pay for :)
