We're preparing for a move to vetbed (and a substantial cage expansion! :(|)) but I'm debating what to do with the hay arrangements as I don't want it to get all messy and stuck in the vet bed etc.

At the moment it just gets plonked in a corner I try to keep regular but its then spread all over the cage of course rolleyes Cash particularly enjoys sitting/sleeping on it and Tango loves his mad dash underneath it all when it goes in fresh.

So I'm less inclined to use hayracks as I wouldn't want to deprive them of the things they enjoy ... unless they end up preferring to snuggle on the vet bed ...

So question is, what do you use for hay boxes? I need something fairly sturdy/heavy, or with an entrance hole type thing as they're big boys and if they stand on the edge of anything plastic it just tips! I also want it to be deep enough so that the hay doesn't end up all over the place.

any and all suggestions welcome thanks!

Unfortunately, no matter how tidy you are, you'll always get hay on vet bed lol.

I have vet bed in my shed and hutch and the following things help me minimise the amount of hay that gets stuck to it:

Stackable plastic boxes bought from QD, you can see hay still gets pulled out the front though lol:

Paving slabs under the hay racks and water bottles:

And I've sectioned off the bedroom of the hutch with a brick so it can be stuffed with hay which isn't easily dragged through to the living area:

Hope this gives you some ideas. :)
