We currently have two male guinea pigs in c&c cages and were wondering whether getting two girls in a c&c cage next to the males would upset our current boys. I wouldn't want them to be distressed trying to get to the females. Anyone have both males and females? Thanks.

People do keep intact females in vicinity of intact boars - but I'd try to avoid it if I were you.

Please do not house sows within sight of a bonded couple of boars that have not grown up next to sows. Ideally you house boars in another room, across the room or above the sows, so they are as much out of reach of the pheromones when sows come into season. If your space only allows for two cages next to each other, you will need 50 cm high opaque divider. Boars can be amazingly determined, athletic and inventive to get to a sow in season. The arrival of sows in a boars-only household can be disruptive.

Always feed, handle and cuddle, groom and let roam boars before sows, so you do not carry any scent across.

I always keep boys on the top cages in my shed so they are out of the way and don't let them get too close in the garden either. I think if they have always lived around sows it would possibly be fine but newly introduced id heading for disaster x

I would say no , do not try it, it could end up in tears :(

As long as you house them above the girls its fine. I have a female and neutered piggie at the bottom and on the top I have my boars.
Don't do it the other way round though.
