At a pet shop in my town, a couple own this rabbit, I was gob smacked at the size of it! It looks a lot bigger in real life too! :o

Goodness me! We had one at college like this and I had to show my handling on him. Great I thought as I am only 5 foot my self! I was lucky as he was a big baby

That was lucky then! I was asked if I wanted to hold the rabbit but I declined, being a small person myself too! hehe :) It was the size of a medium dog and just hopped around the shop meeting and greeting people, I was amazed ::)

There is a new pets@home opening tomorrow here and there will be a gaint rabbit there going to go along just to see it.

Poor rabbit getting passed around like that :(
Unfortunately, giant rabbits are a bit of a new fad (with the likes of P@H getting them in) and a lot of peopple just don't have the facilities or knowledge to keep them properly.
They are gorgeous rabbits but can be prone to helth problems. Plus people put them in hutches - would you put a dog in a hutch?! That's really wrong!
Sorry for the rant - not aimed at anyone else - there's just so much poor treatment of rabbits out there, it makes me mad >:(

I know I totally agree. This particular rabbit lives at home with the family who own the pet shop, he was brought in for the first couple of days of opening the shop :)

I understand where you are coming from though, there are too many pets just kept in hutches days on end, just isn't fair! :'(

I read an article about a strange man in east Germany who had some secret recipe to feed to them to make these rabbits even bigger. The reason... they were getting bought by North Korea to eat. It really upset me, I can't understand why anyone would want to eat a rabbit (or guinea)

Aww no! That disturbs me, I am a newly turned vegetarian and finding out things like that reminds me why I am. Poor souls! :(

awww lovely rabit, i agree unless you have a massive hutch then these rabbits cant be kept in one,

yeah a breeder i got biscuit, coco, georgy and fluffly had bigger ones.

wow
my mum used to have 2 like that one, but her,s were nasty
there was one in a pet shop before xmas near us for £20, was tempted to get him.
someone told me p@h are going to charge £100 for the giants, is this true?

Yeah, at our P@H they were more like £150, they are kept in a separate cage and advertised as house rabbits. Apparently they don't live as long as other breeds, only up to 4 years, they are really gorgeous, though :)
