After months of searchng and researching I have finally decided on the dvd recorder I want to buy:

http://www.martindawes.net/ProductDetails.aspx?pid=DMREX75&cid=dvd_recorder&pcidl=&language=en-GB

I have seen it in the shops but found it £100 than John Lewis online - even saved the £7 delivery as we will collect from nearby store.

Just hope I can set it up now! Its expensive I know but has the features I wanted and will hopefully last for years.

Lets see if I can be parted from my video recorder now!

Should be able to collect within 4 days :D cant wait!

we have removed our video player as we use the dvd all the time now plus I sold all my collections on videos and am now only buying dvds no doubt it will be something else soon

What do you do if you have any old videos you want to keep, eg family videos. Can you tape them onto dvd?

I got myself a DVD Recorder last Friday after months of wanting one. Was a waste of time...it wont tune into my Sky, it wont tune into my TV/Video combi so I cant record anything. The main point I wanted one for is to record from video to DVD and I cant even do that :(

not sure probably can with the right wires, but we still have videos in the house, and thinking of it if I played a tape on tv then copied it on the dvd maybe that would work

Sounds good. Hope you sort out the probs Debs111 - is customer support any good?

If I cant tune it all in I'm going to get someone out to help out - need dads tv looking at too poss it would cost around £20 to get someone out, company I'm buying off can do that according to website.

My friends also got same recorder so will quiz her too!
