I recently put my two boys into a new hutch (it's set up inside ATM as they've had a URI) and it has 2 storeys, the bottom one is a run for them. I have noticed that with this extra space they spend very little time together. They sleep on different floors, eat separately and whenever they do come into contact one of them rumbles and there's a small scuffle (never any actual biting, I have never seen any wounds and teeth chattering is rare). Have they fallen out? I'm worried when they go outside and I have to shut the run overnight will they hate to be so close? Worried!

Sounds like they are just sorting out their hierarchy. How old are they and how long have you had them? When they move to a new environment they tend to start the dominance wars all over again. As long as they haven't drawn blood through fighting I would just leave them to sort it out themselves. Make sure you have 2 of everything in different places of hutch (hideys, food bowls, water bottles, hay racks etc) so they don't fight over them and they both have access to the things they need.

I have had them since early April, they must be about 4 months old now. I have been making sure they get their own breakfasts and dinners rather than shoving it all in together. Hopefully they'll be fine then :)

My pigs rarely sleep together and normally mount and rumblestrut when they are together! @AbiS has explained what and why they are doing it better than I can :)
