Hattie has recently lost her old friend Betty. I am not sure which road I should go down find her another friend or not. These are my difficulties.........
Hattie is around 6-7 years old.
She was the dominant pig and could be quite bossy to Betty rearing her head etc and bumping her but then she would nibble her cheek like she was giving her kisses?
I have never ever heard Hattie make a sound?

she is eating and seems ok but its very hard to tell if she is happy she has always been a grumpy old lady lol but very sweet ...she has alot to be grumpy about as her first 6 years of life was horrible until she came to me....what to do ..I really do not know...

I am very sorry for your loss! You are welcome to post a tribute to Betty in our Rainbow Bridge section.

It is not easy when you are left with a single older piggy. Are you planning to go on keeping guinea pigs or do you want to end the chain?
In the first case, I would recommend to look for a couple of next door neighbours with contact through mesh/bars for stimulation and let Hattie choose whether she wants to live together with them or whether she prefers her own territory. In the second case, you may talk to a rescue about the issue and see whether they can help you find a solution that is making Hattie happy, either with dating for an older rescue companion or as a resident in the rescues golden oldies group (so they have one and Hattie would like to join).
In any way, I would recommend contacting any of our recommended piggy savvy and good standard rescues that are within your reach.

No; some piggies are very quiet. She will speak in her own time, but she is likely to always be on the quiet side and let the others do the screaming. ;)
 
I would like to continue keeping guinea pigs Hattie and Betty are my first i have rabbits but have fallen for piggies they are so sweet!
