Hi guys!

I'm finding more and more with my hammy's that i have to be creative with the toys and such that i get them because a lot of the toys available in my town are not suitable for them, Mainly my Syrian, and i love Syrians so i know to keep the best things i find for future pets :)

So... I was in pound land today and they've got in some candle holders that have amazing Halloween designs,
Some pumpkins, some skulls, and some ghosts,
Now id really like to do a Halloween themed cage this year because Igor my dwarf really likes when i change the lay out once in a while and add new toys,
But i want to make sure that he wont get stuck in anything i give him,
All these holders have large holes in the back to put a candle in but some have eyes and noses and such to create the 'Look'
The Skulls and Ghosts aren't a problem because the holes are big enough, but I'm concerned he might get stuck in the mouth of the pumpkin,

Is it likely he will try to get out of a small wavy hole, or wouldn't he?
Has anyone's Hamsters got stuck in something you've given them?
I know cats wont go through spaces too small for them but are Hamsters the same or not?

In my experience, hamsters aren't the brightest little buggers, and when I worked in a pet store I would often find them caught in things that are made & marketed for hamsters. I would go with the ones you know he couldn't squeeze into and avoid anything you're even slightly concerned about him getting caught in, plus making sure there aren't any toxic paints or anything dangerous he might nibble on.

I hope you'll share a photo of your Halloween cage when it's done! Sounds super cute and I just love hamsters

My Syrian Sharon loves a cage change and is not really interested in the shop bought toys I buy, instead she loves anything cardboard. I create towers of cracker boxes, parcel boxes and all sorts of things. Not glamorous but she loves tearing into it!

Our hamster is capable of getting stuck in lots of things... she has an appalling lack of common sense! LOL! I would probably steer clear of anything that looks like a hamster might not fit through. I wouldn't trust their judgment or foresight to keep them out of trouble!
