Hi guys I was just wondering has anybody used hemp bedding flooring mats for their pegs in the cages if so what is it like if not are you considering trying it like myself rather than the alternative messy option that I have at the moment which is would flakes

ive used them to cover a mezzane area of cage.Found my piggies wee"d all over them,unable to wash them was a pain !but very comfortable,if you have a budget that allows you to dispose of them regularly or piggies that do not wee on them they are great .

I have used them for my Degu's, I really liked them, they were easy to sweep and you can flip them over to the clean side once the other has gone past saving. My Degu's loved it too.

Thank you for your input guys I think I will just stick to that which flakes for the moment but I thought I would ask the question anyway so thank you for responding

I look at them every time I am in the pet shop, but like @eileen I know my lot would wee all over them, and they would be in the bin in no time at all!

I have some that I use for various other species (currently gerbils and zebra mice). @Swissgreys re. pee, so long as they don't get chewed up you can soak them in hot water and then hang them up to dry. However as they can't be rung out they drip quite a bit initially, so it's probably more of a summer than winter option for outside drying.

I use them in some of my hamster cages for the area fenced off with a log bridge on its side where the wheel and water bowl go.

They are great for hamsters that like chewing. Like the idea of putting them in a guinea pig cage. Hmm.

I use the grassy mats (Seagrass) and my piggies love them. The girls chew and tear them. They do pee on them and I throw them away when they get too smelly
