Harry is about 5 months old and after his disabled brother died I got him a 7 week old friend Leo from a rescue centre.

They have been together for 3 days now and I have had no fighting. Harry has tried to mount Leo a few times but that seems to be over now. ut they are acting a bit odd.

Harry seems very excited. popping all over the cage. he runs up to Leo gently puts his nose against Leo's body and pops off again. Leo is not phased by any of this, he is just plodding around eating and drinking.

They have made the odd clicking noises, normally Leo when he gets fed up of Harry being so hyper.

Last night I caught them snuggled up together in the corner.

Is Harry just excited with his new friend or do you think this will build to aggression?

My other two males who live together constantly grumble at each other and have little chases round the cage, its like they do not get on but when I split them up they both refused to eat, 3 days they would not eat for so I ended up having to put them back together!

Are they just playing their own guinea pig games? None of them have ever scratched or bitten each other.

They sound very happy to me :) Especially if they snuggle up together :smitten:
I have George and Mildred, George is 10 months and Mildred is about 4 months. We have had Mildred nearly 4 weeks and she popcorns around George all the time and runs around the run and in and out the house and tubes with excitement. George is quite chilled out and not phased by her behaviour.
I must admit I was anxious about introducing a friend to George but thankfully there have been no problems. It sounds like your two seem to have hit it off although early days yet. :)

Thanks for replying. There has been a couple of times today where Harry has mounted Leo again but nothing major.

Minty is still mounting Garry although it seems to be less often now thankfully! They chase each other round the cage, rumble, and have a general bit of rough and tumble. I think unless they are hurting each other then they are just doing what comes naturally to them. I'm reassured when I see the two of them sprawled out together on the hay! :smitten:

it sounds like leo is just excited and is happy to be with harry. :smitten: :smitten: we have zoe 3.6 years old and after choloe had to sleep forever as she had a tumour wrapped around her bladder :'( :'( we got jessie to keep zoe company. we introduced them slowly and now jessie is 1.6 years old and she is mounting zoe when on heat, rattling, bossy, :tickedoff: :tickedoff: and zoe is so laid back she takes it. :tickedoff: :tickedoff: i always thought it was strange as zoe was the eldest and had been with us the longest she would have been the dominant female but guess it's not to be. :-\ :-\ is there anything to stop jessie from doing this? hugs and cuddles to your babies :) :smitten: andf to you too. enjoy their fun. it sounds like it would be fun to watch, leo carrying on and harry looking on thinking kids ha who needs all that running around? :) :smitten:
