I have 4 guinea pigs and 2 of them are really hard to catch, they run around the cage like mad. I have had them for 8 months so they should be used to it. Once they are on my lap they are fine and relaxed.

Will they ever get used to being caught?

Our piggies Cookie and Treacle are really friendly girls and love strokes and fuss but still hate being picked up.
We use a chube [ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Giant-Chube-Guinea-Rabbit-Chinchilla/dp/B0037XQ31C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1351150864&sr=8-1"]Giant Chube Play Toy Guinea Pig, Rabbit, Rat Chinchilla: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home[/ame] to herd one one into, then tip them out carefully on our lap. They know what the Chube means and will oftern walk straight into it. However if I try and pick them up it results in high speed running off :))
Some piggies just don't like being caught.

All our girls would rather be fussed and stroked in their cage. Lottie isnt too bad at being picked up but the others do tend to make a dash for some cover! :)

The boys on the other hand are much easier to pick up for some reason-they just seem more docile.

I have 4 piggies ranging for just over 4years to about 8 months old, its the youngest one who has been with us the least time who will sit still when being picked up, she loves fuss, the second youngest isn't too bad, but the older 2 who we have had for the longest hate being picked up and one refuses to be touched full stop, she hates being out of the cage!
