I have just been watching my piggys after having floortime and I put them in there cage, I noticed that they dont really 'talk' to one another. Ive had them for nearly a year now and they are 2 in december. They arent brothers but were happy together and got on well. They dont really groom eachother but Joey has done it a few times to Gizmo when they have been out for floortime. They share hay, veg and food together and get on fine in the cage, but they hardly ever 'talk' to eachother. Is this normal in some pigs or are they sad? They do have some occasions when they squeak to one another but Joey has always been quiet since ive had him and Gizmo more chatty. They follow eachother about during floortimes and Joey will sleep or stay near Gizmo alot, I think its a security thing as Joey came from a horrid home and I think he feels safe with Gizmo, as if i take Gizmo out of the cage Joey will squeak for him.
Am I just worrying and maybe they do 'chat' when I'm in bed?:{

Perhaps they are planning something..... maybe a surprise Christmas present? Or they are planning to get all their piggie friends round for a Hallowe'en party and think you'll put a stop to it! Maybe they know their friends are rebels and will wreak the house? 6)

My piggies don't really talk to each other either, they squeak when they want veggies or more hay. Well actually, one of them squeaks when she wants veggies. Our boy squeaks very rarely.

:)p

Yeah maybe they are planning a party for when I'm not here! They make enough mess in there cage rearranging it to there liking, once ive cleaned it! Haha. :)

I just assumed that piggys always squeak etc to eachother, dont ask me why I thought that. I just wanted to know how everyone elses piggy relate to eachother.

I get lots of noise from my 6 girls in their cage. They are either complaining or just chatting. If one of them has lap time and goes back in she has to tell all the others about it.

But the 2 foster pigs don't make that much noise. They do at food times and they do when they are in their run but other than that it's pretty quiet.

I bet they are absolutely fine and dandy. Your guineas are so loved and well looked after.

Some are chattier than others - they are still very much bonded and happy with each other!

Thanks everyone for the help! I do worry about them its silly really. They do have a little complain to each other when one wakes up the other when he is pop-corning about and when they are out for floor time they have a low pitched noise like they are 'chatting'. Joey never does it to me only sometimes when hes being cuddled and Gizmo is just chatty and always wheeps to me but not that to often to Joey.
I assumed that they should be squeaking and making noises all the time. But I can see now it depends on each pigs personality.
They are very loved and looked after thats why I worry.
Thanks everyone for putting my mind at rest. x x
