So far I take Stripe and Chesney out of the cage with a snuggle sack for cage cleaning. But I know I have to start handling them soon.

I have a vet appointment Wednesday, so I'll ask her some tips but I'm scared they'll get loose when they're on my lap. I'm scared Chesney will bite, he's a nibbler.

How do I start?

Are you hand feeding veg? I found that very helpful.

I use a bed and then gently tip them out. One of my pigs has meds out the cage twice a day so knows to walk out now.

Yes, I'm hand feeding them, they both have no problem taking the food.
As long as you can handle them for weighing, health checking and medication is the important bit. Guinea pigs don't always like cuddles and that's okay.
