Hi, anyone use a hand held vacuum to spot clean fleece in c&c cages? Currently using small brush and dust pan but open to any advice others may have.
Thanks x

I bought a cheap dust buster and it was about as useful as a chocolate iron. The dyson handheld is apparently good though :-)

I have several hand helds & none of them work better on my vetbed than the dustpan & brush. However, a UK member on here did rave about a Bissell corded hand held vacuum that really worked well for her. I immediately searched for it here but we only have corded uprights in the Bissell range. This is the model you want to search for:

I kind of agree with Bekki, mine doesn't always suck up the poo, so I leave the vacuum to the little corners under the fleece!
I like the sound of the chocolate iron!

I do it the hard way - take everything out and shake/wash it! Although, it probably would be much better with a dust buster but wouldn't it suck up the bedding?

Thanks folks :) think I will stick with the way om using. Luckily my piggies tend to poo in 2 corners, its easier to clean x

I just use a pair of rubber gloves and a pot! I marked the pot 'POO!' Just to make sure there were no mishaps!
I do the same sometimes! I use those disposable vynil gloves & a special deep plastic bowl that is just for their poop. Depends on how much poop is there on whether I do it this way or use the dustpan & brush.

Lucky you! My 2 boys like to cover the entire cage & their hideys with poop! Occasionally there is poop in the hay trays & in the pellet bowls as well.

Just the post I needed to read today. I'm fed up of bedding being kicked all over my living room floor and considering switching to fleece. Not sure its a daft idea, but I can only try it.... x

I've got the handheld Dyson and it is a godsend. Just the normal one though, not the animal one. It does get blocked sometimes though. Is great because all the parts are replaceable and the fliter is washable.

No problem it makes jobs like a quick once over on floor round cages after hay topping up twice daily a breeze. Not to mention sucking up poops and hey from vet bed / fleece. Mine has got mucky though so had to clean it I used my f10 on the plastic bits and it came up lovely and poop free (for about 5mins lol)
