Hair Loss & Ringworm; Spot Cleaning?

Hey all! All four of my girls are still battling ringworm pretty severely right now. They’re losing hair, and because they’re on fleece, it’s impossible to get cleaned up.

Whats the best way to remove hair from the fleece? And how much shedding is “normal” for long and short-haired breeds once this ringworm is cleared up?

Shedding is normal. I can’t say how much is too much when they have ringworm as I’ve no experience with it. Did you manage to get them to the vet for treatment? I’m sorry I can’t remember

You could brush the fleece to remove most of the hair. There’s a brush that was mentioned on here long ago but I can’t remember its name!

They did get into the vet but it seems like two steps forward and one step back. I think this one was a sore that was developed after the exam under the hair, and the hair was lost over the past couple of days. It’s pretty nasty but I’m putting meds on it.

I know stuff like that doesn’t develop overnight but it certainly seems like it did. Yesterday was the first time I saw it, albeit the past three days I’ve been busy with work. I feel bad!

How are you doing with keeping on top of hygiene? You have to be really careful with it as it can be passed into you. Have you got a vet grade cleaner such as F10? I’d scrap lap time for now, until they’re better. If I remember correctly, ringworm does get worse before it gets better.

I’ve already caught it unfortunately haha, I think I got it from the store, though, and not my girls. I do have F10 and am doing daily spot cleaning with once a week full clean out. They’re due for a full clean tonight, actually.
