Hair dye disaster

Oh goodness me, I had such a hairdye disaster last night that I thought I was gonna have to do a Britney and shave it off :o

I have had red hair for a couple of months and decided I wanted to go back to blonde. So brought one of those ultra-lightening bleach packs and used that and it went a horrible mix of pale colours - pink, peach, cream, yellow. Arrrghhhhhh. I knew if I was to put a darker blonde on top it would still look uneven.

Anyway, I still had a pack of my red dye left and decided to re-do that. Wooooahhh, even tho it said on the pack that you could use it after a pre-lightener, it went a hideous salmon pink colour. Well I was in tears by that stage. So phoned hairdresser first thing this morning and she managed to fit me in to sort it out - phew. So off I went (with a hat on) ;D and she put a tint over the top. So it is now a deep red/purple colour. It looks pretty nice and is actually quite shiny which is a miracle considering the processing it had been through. Anyway, hairdresser said I need to use wash-in, wash-out stuff that she gave me until my hair is in a good enough condition to be lightened.

Stupid girl, lesson learnt - never attempt such drastic colour changes at home!

oh gosh, you poor love! Pink is hideous!

I too, would've been devestated! Think I'll stay with my black! ;)
 
something similar happened to me, I am a very light blonde, and decided I wanted black hair. ::)

So bought the dye, put it on - and came out with grey/pale-purple hair. Awful! :o

Had to get one of these packs especially for old women, the ones that say they cover even the last grey hair youve got,
and that actually managed to turn my blonde hair black..

I suppose you have never lived until you had at least one or two haircolour disasters ;) O0

Thank goodness your hairdresser managed to sort you out!
 
actually i used to have mine pink mixed and loved it,id give anything to have that back again,I'm gonna go purple or blue again soon
 
Well if you think that is bad, just after i joined the police, i used a henna hair dye to do it black, i am Albany colour, and it went green!

luckily mum only lets me dye the bottom half of my hair and smetimes my fringe lol... but i love doing pinks :) I want to get a nice brown colour in it soon :)
 
my mum used an out of date dye on her hair - before she went to parents evening at my brother's school many years ago.... her hair went pink! But she still had to go - ha ha!

oi I have a few grey hairs & I'm only 8 years older than you!!

I colour them....with a permanant black marker! Its cheaper that way & you dont have to do your whole head >:D
 
years ago I dyed my hair red and had some left over so while mIck was asleep in the chair I dabbed some on his grey, result PINK lol he was on duty that night ( police officer) so I had to shave it all off middle of winter not too happy :o

I'm used to dying my hair, I've learnt what I can and can't do. XD There's not a single colour I can think of that my hair hasn't been. I don't trust hairdressers with dying my hair though, I always do it myself.

I no longer have my funky purple fading into black at the tips, so I'm going to wait until I get a haircut to try out something new.
 
It is a right of passage to have a hair dye disaster.... I myself went green a couple of years back ;D

Glad you were able to get it sorted though.

I keep wondering about putting purple streaks in, have always wanted it but not sure if I have the nerve (I've also just turned 33!) so not sure...
