Had to separate Big Dave and luigi again

these guys are never going to get on :( Big dave is too dominate and just keeps going for Luigi and humping him and driving the poor kid nuts
 
I just don't know what to do with them both? can they both live alone happily or do they need to be in pairs?
 
Oh dear, i've had a bad day too with bonding! It's not fair to have them both together if there is bullying or they just don't get on, it's probably best to separate them for good before one of them gets really hurt :(

I'd say in the long run it would be better for both piggies to find friends but it would need to be done through a dating service to ensure they all get on, otherwise you could end up with the same problem!
For now i'd put the cages next to each other so they can still get some piggy interaction. I'm sorry :( i do know how you feel as i'm going through exactly the same thing with Finley and Mabel!

Surely getting rid of them is extreme? I saw your thread saying you wanted a home for dave. It depends if you can cope with more guinea pigs. If so you could take them to the boar dating service.

I could cope with him on his own but I feel mean that he is on his own. It would be nice if he had a piggy friend :( he;s such a lovely thing. I don't know what to do!
 
Oh I really feel for you. Could you take on another piggy? If so then why not try boar dating service? If you cant then be sure to give him lots of love and attention and he will be fine. How is Luigi? Is he alone at the moment?
 
yes, he's alone too :( Luigi looks a bit sad but Big Dave's lording it up in his hutch and strutting about. :)) I think he's used to the single life. And he's majorly spoilt by everyone in the family because he is the bigger pig and really enjoys being held. The other 3 are more jumpy. Whats a boar dating service?
 
It is when you take Dave to the shelter and he can chose his own friend and spend time with him to see if he gets along. Am I right in thinking you have females? If so how about getting him nutered and he could live with them?
 
I was thinking that too. But bella is a very dominant pig too (must be genetic!) and I can see her giving him some grief! he is soft as hell despite his size
 
Hmm tricky one. So the girls are a no no and you have dave and luigi who are now alone? I can imagine you do not want to separate your girls but maybe they could be so both boys have company?
