2 weeks ago while son and I were out our German shepard pushed into sons room and investigated Teddi. When we got home the cage which is fabric bottom and wire panel sided was a mangled mess.
Poor Teddi was screaming in terror and hiding in her hut. She was missing fur in a few spots but not bleeding. When I scooped her up she climbed up to my neck and huddled. After about 20 minutes she slowly quieted down. I handed her to son and set about fixing and cleaning up cage. Nothing was really broke, just bent at the hinges.
I spent nearly 36 hours awake and checking on Teddi every hour.
She didn't eat anything for about 8 hours but then slowly started to nibble choice bits of parsley and green beans. At the 24 hour make their was some blood in her pee and I feared the worst. Thankfully she kept on eating and drinking and at the 72 hour point I could finally tell son she's good to go. I love that little fur ball. I even called 3 vets but was told the size, age and delicate nature of their nervous systems don't make them good patients for trama surgery. I poop scoop her cage and put in fresh food every night about midnight. I look forward to the task as there are no distractions and I can really watch her and listen to the noises she makes. I even got a purr out of her 2 nights ago. Cutest dam sound ever. I talk to her very quietly and she really responds to my voice. Son has taken to reading to her and although I don't think she enjoys it as much as my son does at least he's reading, right? Lol. The hunt for another girl cavy wages on.

glad all is well with Teddi - what a fright for you x
