I am gutted about the new cage Ive got for Reggie, its far too big and just looks completely in the way of everything and we literally have to squeeze by the area it is currently sat by.

Hubby spent about 3 hours putting it together and because I won it on Ebay its not like I can send it back.

Now I'm going to have to try and sell it on Ebay or something as collection only :(

How big is it exactly? If i remember correctly you are thinking about getting to boars? Ideally they will need a cage atleast 120cms long and 60cms deep. :)

Couldn't you have a re-think and maybe change where you have the cage? Would it it better in a different room?
x

Please be aware a cage smaller than this will not be enough room for two piggies. However this is lovely. Is there any way you could fit it somewhere else in the house? :)

The length of it is great its the width, its too wide.
Also i like to have his cage in the living room where we always spend time, the only other place it could possibly fit is in the porch but its cold and dark in there x

Shame you dont live nearer Id take it as its the one I want and my order gone pearshaped from someone else(not on here) x Wonder how much a courier would be hmmm

it must be awful when you think youve found the right cage and it doesnt work, it def couldnt be moved into another spot?

Infortunatly the width is also necessary for housing pairs of piggies. Its all about the square areas. If you wish to have a narrower cage it will need to be longer. :)

Hope you can get this sorted, I face the same problems - parents not keen on having cages inside so I can only get a 100cm cage in my room, this was ok for Monty and Freddie as single boys but I know I'd need at least 120 for a pair. I'd ideally like a 120 for a single guinea but have tried and can't fit it in:{

So means I can't take on anymore guineas as I've said no to anymore outdoor guineas after Melvin and Parsnip - not fair in winter as don't consider my garage is a nice place to live!

If you made a C & C cage you could make it to fit the gap, it could be in between the two sizes :)

yes and you could add a mezzanine level for a bit of extra space or hay loft.

Amy, you could do coventry to derby in about 40 mins, I've done it a couple of time, 45 mins tops! :))

Are a there any bits of furniture in the lounge that aren't essential? Maybe you could rethink the space if you want to keep the cage in the lounge with you.

The cage is gorgeous but just a little bit too wide. I cannot move any furniture around either as the layout of our living room is awkward and we cant move the sofas etc. Gutted though as I have no idea what I am going to do with it now :( x

Can you move any furniture to another room? Your cage is actually quite small in my opinion. It's only 2x4 ft. Anything narrower than that, your piggies won't be able to turn around.

Wont be able to turn around?!?

The cage is actually very roomy if you ask me! x

I think the OP was more refering to the fact that two piggies really do need that amount of space :)

Hiya -

The recommended size for 2 piggies is 2 x 4 ft as stated above, I know you have a boy and are going to be getting him a friend shortly he really needs as much space as possible.

I do hope your able to work something out :)!

Trust me, nobody thinks that. :) We just have to make people aware (not just you but any others looking at the thread) That cage meets the minimum RSPCA requirements, but only just and two boars idealy need more space than sows, so any smaller and you would be risking tiffs. *eek*

Hiya that is the cage i have got for my 2 girls and at the mo as 1 as had babies 2 4 weeks old babies girls are in there as well i know before anyone say anything to me about this we are looking for a bigger cage
ps 2 baby boys are in a cage 3x2 i know again before anyone again befor anyone as a go these 2 are going in 2 weeks
but anyway back to the cage before the babies came along my 2 girls loved it and still do plenty of room :)
pps how much are you wanting for the cage inc p&p as above looking for another 1 of these cages to attach to mine somehow older half is good a things like that rolleyes

funny though, cos on another post this cage has been recommended to me for my 2 boars! lots of differering views about suitable sized cages :{

This cage is perfectly sized for two boars! (sorry were going off topic here) The reason were quoting size guides is because the OP has decided this is too big for her, and we are warning her anything smaller wont be big enough. However this IS fine. Just to clarify :)
