Hi,
I am new to piggies but have noticed that one or both of their poops have changed. They were normal and now I am finding some normal poops and some softer teardrop shape poops.

So I’m struggling to find the pig who is actually producing said poops 🤷🏻‍♀️

There has been some change recently. I had a problem with my hay box delivery so they were on the little hay box we had left and some emergency spare hay and readi grass for a day until the delivery arrived. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.
But their hay is in an under bed storage box (in a pile), I have a small pile on top of an ikea doll bed as they are always jumping on top of it and a small willow hay rack.

They also have a bowl and a bottle of water. Their water bowl does sometimes get poops in it. But I change as soon as I find it. Sometimes I’m working and don’t find until I get home.

Would change in location have anything to do with it? They have recently been moved into my bedroom for a few days while we extended their cage and then back into the normal room but in a makeshift c&c on the floor as they will be living alongside a neutered boar for a few days to bond, as per RSPCA instructions.

Sorry for the long read!
TIA Georgia x

Forgot to mention, they are both eating and drinking normally from what I can see. Both moving around still squeaking etc.

I didn’t give them vegetables last night but unsure if that was the right thing to do?

It can be a bit of a digestive upset. You said you were feeding readigrass - while this is ok as a small amount mixed into hay, it is quite rich (and higher in calcium) so if they aren’t used to it, then the readigrass could potentially be a cause for a bit of an upset tummy.

The routine weekly weight checks are your way to check they are still eating enough hay (switching to daily checks if you have any concerns)

Is this something that will usually resolve itself as long as they’re still eating enough? I’ll be sure to weigh them.

Yes they were fed a bit of readigrass. It was probably 2 small handfuls in total. Just to try and get them to eat the different hay. They’ve not had any since.

Do I still feed veg and pellets alongside the hay or leave until they’re back to normal?

If piggies have a digestive upset then you remove veg from the diet for a few days but continue to feed hay and the normal tablespoon of pellets. A mild digestive upset is usually resolved with a higher fibre intake and with no veg for a couple of days. You then reintroduce veg slowly (it’s usually best to start with a couple of sprigs of herbs) once poops normalise.
