So I have a guniea pig who’s one years old ( I’m not sure if the age matters in this case ) but I was feeding him and his brother vegetables and (I’m not sure how to put this) but he seemed very scared of the food dish when I put it down and was sort of freaking out and running around his cage it’s like his behaviour changed ( his brother is fine ) I tried feeding him in another room that was more quiet then the one he is in now he ate bits of his veggies and seemed more calm when I was holding him. I’m just wondering why his behaviour changed like in a instant is this something I should take him to the vet for any illnesses or could it just be because there was a lot of noise in the room that freaked him out ?

It may well have been noise or a sudden movement. Guinea pigs are wired to react to stimuli instantly as part of their instinctive behaviour as prey animals. Getting him used to more stimulating environments gradually may help. Good luck with taming him. There is no harm taking him for a vet check to establish his baseline, have his teeth checked etc.

The other thing is giving him a few hideys to retreat to when he feels insecure. This will lower his stress levels and help to keep him healthy ❤️
