Guineas pig has bald patch

Guinea pigs do have a symmetrical bald patches behind both ears but if you are also seeing other signs of potential parasites (the black specs might be mite egg casings) then please have your piggy seen by a vet

Please check whether there is another bald patch of the same shape behid the other ear. Only of the two parches are not symmetrical should you see a vet.
See a vet for potential parasites and do not home treat on spec with baths, creams or low dosed pet shop products. It is ultimately cheaper to see a vet and pay once for appropriate good quality treatment than waste lots of money on inappropriate products like a bath etc.

Guinea pigs regulate their body temperature via increased blood flow through the skin; the ears are the biggest area where heat is shed. For that reason, there is no insulating hair growing behind the ears. The shape of a piggy's ear patches is as unique as a fingerprint in humans but they have two of the same.
