Hi we are expanding and we have room for a few new piggies needing a forever home we have rescued 4 and already had 6 i live in northallerton and there is nowhere in my area that rescues guinea pigs if you need my help please message me x
 
I think your sort of hitting the wrong audience on here. Most people on here are either happy with their current pigs, are rescues or are looking to rehome privatley (or already know of good local rescues). I think you'd have better luck putting ads up locally: local shops, various selling websites (gumtree, freeads, etc), newspapers, word of mouth. That way you're getting people who are local and would therefore have nowhere else to go if you are right in saying there are no local rescues and it would also mean your offering help rather than asking for Guinea pigs. One thing I haven't got from your posts though is are you a rescue or a sanctuary?
 
I've just had a look at the other sections on this forum and this is probably the nearest one to fit you announcement. It is allways good to know of a new rescue starting up, especialy one in an uncovered area. Many people on this forum come across Piggies that need rehoming and another Rescue is very welcome. If, on the other hand you are looking to take in Piggies that will have a forever home with you (a sanctuary rather than a rescue) then you will find that there will be posts on this forum by people having to let go of their Piggies to a loving home that may fit that bill better.

Just wanted to point you in the right direction as you appeared to be offering a space to pigs already in rescues and didn't seem to be getting very far in getting to the piggies that need your help. Sorry to ask again but are you a rescue or a sanctuary? It's just both are quite different and people will be able to give you the right advice (if you need it) if they know.
 
Good luck, I think anyone who can run an rescue or sanctuary is amazing and very devoted (having got emails and calls from the rescues on here at a time when most normal people are long asleep, lol). Let us know when you start fundraising etc. as I am sure everyone will help you with ideas.

I'd love the time and means to run a rescue or sanctuary, ah to win those euro millions and have a giant house lol.

Lol that's the one reason I don't think I'd ever be able to start a rescue, I'd just end up keeping them all and saying no to people that came to rehome them XD. I can't offer much advise as I don't have experiance in rescuing but one thing I learnt from a friend is to not make your address publicly available as you end up getting pigs dumped with no information about them by stupid people who don't care if you have space or not.

It's a bug, if you had of been closer you could have had my old cage, it's small but would have been good as a quarantine cage.
 
i no its hard but you just never really no where they are going a home check is fine but who knows what will happen down the line and you never really no the people but I'm probably to protective of them lol thanx for the offer of the cage its so hard finding them might look on gumtree, i dont mind if they do put them on the doorstep too many are found in boxes in the woods or just let of in fields xx
 
Thanx doeylicious ive got a little part time job now so all my wages goes on them sad i know but I'm addicted to them lol xx

Its great that youv found this forum - its fantastic for any guinea pig owner but especially for you to give you advice on allsorts you may come accross !
Theyre are some EXTREMELY experienced folk here !

If you do reach a point where your reaching full you may even want to try rehoming to forum members - ( hey i know you all claim to be at ** limit :))
That way you already know them & can get updates all the time !
