Stupid question but can guinea pigs dig out of runs that are on grass? I don`t think they do.mallethead I had two guinea pigs about 100yrs ago when i was 10. I don`t remember them doing it. Just want to be warned if they can escape.

No, they don't. But if you are having cats or dogs that come into the garden, you want to secure your run. It needs a firm top if it is ever left without supervision. Dog pee is poisonous to guinea pigs, so they shouldn't graze in the same area that dog use.

I hopt weather you need to provide plenty of shade, and it also helps introducing new guinea pigs to the outside, if they can feel protected.
