Hi! The names JJW&Pigs. I was doing a physical check on my guinea pigs that I preform every other day, and when I checked one of my females, I noticed a red area in her female area. I pulled on the top area of the female area, and under the area in which she urinates from, there was a cut. It was a small cut that wasn’t deep, it just cut the top layer and the second layer was showing. I’m assuming she somehow cut herself, but I’m not completely sure. Could someone tell me if this is urgent or does this sometimes happen? Thank you!

Hi

Please disinfect with some mild disinfectant, like home made saline solution.
You can find the recipe in our first aid advice collection: First Aid Kit: Easily available non-medication support products for an emergency

If you can, get some flamazine cream to apply lightly onto the area once or twice daily to prevent an infection if possible. It is safe to use for guinea pigs and is often used by vets for things like urine scald or irritated foot soles in guinea pigs with mobility issues that are sitting more in their excrement.

See a vet if the area around the cut becomes hot/red and swollen (infection); it is unfortunately not the best location for something like this, so the infection risk will be higher than usual. Please keep a daily eye on it.

Alright. I’ll check to see if I have any flamazine cream at home after work. If not, is there any ointment/creams that I could use?

No, just disinfect with homemade saline solution asap.
