Hi, so I have 2 ,6 month old guinea pigs, Brownie and Floof. I got them 4 months ago and when I did, everytime I refilled their pellets, the bowl would be empty the next morning, but lately, they've been eating less pellets than usual. I've been giving them an ⅛ cup and I haven't changed anything, except for their cage size, which I recently upgraded to a 3x7 c&c. They still love their veggies and there don't seem to be any behavioural changes or weight loss, so I'm just wondering why they would eat less pellets and if this could be a problem. Sorry if this post is in the wrong thread, it's my first post. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum

On its own, eating less pellets is not a problem. You only need to be concerned if they dont eat enough hay and this will be seen via the weekly weight checks. They do not need lots of pellets - pellets should be kept limited to one tablespoon per pig per day as they are the least important part of the diet. They need to be eating plenty of hay and filling up on that, not veg or pellets.

Lovely cage size for them!
