Guinea Pigs & Dogs

I swear i've heard before that guinea pigs shouldnt be allowed on grass where dogs have been, what are the reasons for this (presuming that the area of grass didnt have any dog 'presents' on it)?

would you like to eat something another animal has toileted on?

I pick up and wash the grass where she has been (wee and poo) if it hasnt rained for a few days before putting the run on the washed area and leave it there to stop her going in that place.

I am lucky to have a big enough lawn I can rotate clean areas and the runs
