^^ Sorry for the wrong title :p

I've had my girls for about 5 months now and they are comfortable around me. Their cage is in my bedroom so they have no problem running around their cage while I'm sitting down or on my bed but they will run into their hidey houses if I stand up, also when I walk into the room they run into their hidey houses. When they're on my lap they are completely different though they squeek, eat from my hand, lick my fingers! xx>>> :(|) But as soon as I put them back in their first instinct is to hide even though they were just so comfortable around me. I'd like to be able to walk around the room without them panicking :( Do you think they'll change as they get older or are they always going to be shy. I've been on this forum since April now and I've learnt A LOT but I still don't know everything so I'd like to hear about what you guys have got to say! thanks :<>

5 months for them isn't alot of time, they seem to take ages doing anything haha, my pigs were nervous around me in there cage till at least 8 or 9 months ! i've had them for a year next month, the change into there C&C helped as they were too busy being happy to notice, i just started spending more time just sat next to the cage and in the end they got bored of hiding and would just come out, i also found having there treats and things in something that makes a noise like a jar or a box that rattles will get them used to a sound and you can't keep a pig away from food !

I've had my newest piggy Marmite, for about 8 months now, and he's only just coming around to me being in the room while standing he lives on his own though so i expect him to take longer as he's just more nervous and things but he's getting there, i guess they just find us very intimidating, the best thing is just to leave them to it and ignore them when they run and act like it's no big deal ! (:

I'm also going to be raising their cage off the ground so I don't look so big and menacing to them! :p

My piggies are exactly the same ! they are super comfortable and quite content sitting on my lap and licking me and eating from my hand one of them even sits there and cleans himself ! but in thier cages its a different story, they run, hide and just seem quite afraid however I have only had mine for a few weeks so I expect them to still be quite scared I guess this all just takes time ! :D

That's funny, I have exactly the opposite problem, they are confident in their cage, come up to the door when I approach and let me stroke them, but don't really like being out and on my lap!
