Hello,
Today I have discovered that my guinea pigs have eaten a large chunk of their wooden chew toy, breaking it. They have also been munching on their cardboard hidey. I’m worried that the wood or cardboard will block their digestive track.

Please don’t worry, this is absolutely fine for them to chew and won’t cause them harm

Some woods aren’t safe, but a wooden hidey is hopefully made from piggy safe woods. However, If if has now been broken and is a risk of injury, then please remove it.

Wood that is intended for pets is absolutely fine for them to chew, as is cardboard made for pets. You don't want to let them chew wood not intended for pets, which may have pain, chemicals, etc. that are not safe to consume, but those toys/houses are intended for pets to chew on without harming them. HTH!
