Hi, I have a guinea pig named cookie dough and recently she's been sneezing a little more than usual I'd say maybe 5 times a day, there hasn't been noticeable discharge but she seems to wipe her nose every so often too (no not usual cleaning). She's been eating and drinking fine, I also just recently used a new bedding in her cage any suggestions?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

How old is your piggy? What is the bedding you have changed too? I would recommend you weigh your piggy and check the weights daily at the same time of the day, that is also a good indicator to show your piggy is ill, if their is noticeable weight loss i.e. 50grams then it's off to the vets.

Hi and welcome!

What kind of bedding have you changed to?

She's about 5 months old (can't say for sure) I usually use carefresh, but switched to Kaytee clean and cozy because it seemed more cost efficient. And Ive actually been thinking about weighing her from now on, but she's still a chubby little pig

Try a hay and/or bedding change to see whether it is a dust problem. It can also be caused by dry air/air conditioning. Please be aware that guinea pigs usually sneeze at the end of a "piggy wash" to clear their noses. They do this several times a day. 5 sneezes a day are still within the accpetable limit.

We recommend to see a vet if regular sneezing (several times an hour) lasts for more than a day or if an acute sneezing fit doesn't stop within a few hours. Please always consider whether there have been changes to the enivronment.
See a vet promptly if there is more than 50g/2 oz of weight loss in a short time or there are signs of loss of appetite, rattly breathing, crusty, gunky eyes and sometimes noses, coughing or especially if there is lethargy (the latter is a life and death emergency).

Besides the sneezing a very minimal wetness on her nose she doesn't seem to have any other symptoms, she's eating fine and seems normal during floor time. She does sleep alot but she's been that way since we got her. I would probably say the air conditioning could be a huge factor simply because we hadn't really used it until the weather started warming up. I assumed it was the bedding because I hadn't noticed too much sneezing until after we started using this one.
