hi my younger male used to chatter his teeth when the older male came into the floor space but now its gone from chattering to a sort of whimper is this still a warning sign.
Hi
it sounds like your younger guinea is submissive to the older more dominant one and the whimpering noise you describe is him letting the older one know that. Just keep an eye that the younger one isn't being bullied, i.e chased from the food bowl/water bottle, nipped etc make sure he is allowed to eat his share and check regularly for injuries but sounds like submissive behaviour to me and perfectly normal.
thanks i will keep an eye on them they dont live together just paly out together but was thinking of housing them as for company the younger one has gone for the older one before though so its starnge he is submissive now or maybe it was his initial reaction as it was the first time i had put them together when he did that now he knows he wont harm him.
