Hello! I’m fairly new to these forums and I didn’t quite know where to post this. So, my guinea pig (Minnie) is three years old and I adopted her last month. When I got her, it said she was a lone piggie meaning she was raised by herself. But lately i’ve been busy with camp and such and I was wondering if she might need a cage mate because i’m not home to provide 24/7 care. I can’t let her out too much and I want her to socialize but I don’t know if it’s necessary. Please help!

Hi! Guinea pigs are group animals and should not be kept single. The best way forward is to date her at a good rescue under expert supervision with another sow or neutered boar. If she has been separated very young, she may not know how to deal with other piggies and can overcompensate (fear-aggression).
Companionship
Recommended good standard rescues UK: Recommended Guinea Pig Rescues
Recommended rescues in some other countries: Guinea Lynx :: Rescue Organizations

If that is the case or if you cannot get to a rescue that offers a bonding service, another single piggy in an adjoining cage for mutual stimulation and interaction through the bars is a valid alternative.
Please conduct a quarantine if you get a piggy from another place than an a good rescue with a mandatory quarantine and medical vet care. If you want to try a bonding at home, always double-check the gender beforehand and have a plan B at the ready in case things don't work out to plan.

My Beryn, who was found as a dumped stray but who has very obviously been a beloved single piggy at some point, is struggling when face to face, is happily interacting through the bars and loves to sleep next to a neighbour across the bars. She gets her daily cuddle with me, but I do not have to worry about keeping her stimulated when I am busy and I know that she is as happy as can be.

Welcome to the forum.

Piggies do need piggy companionship so I hope you can find Minnie a suitable friend.
