Hi
Recently our guinea pigs Po and Sandy, two boars age 13 months old have been arguing a lot. When I brought them in from outside a few hours ago there was cuts around there noses and faces, when I saw the cuts closer on Po you could see a cut going down into his mouth. I cheacked his teeth seeing the top two teeth were not there and when I looked again one of them one was bent all the way back. What I think what happened was the tooth got broken and then bent back because it didn’t look like the whole tooth was going back, but it still looked bad though. Po has been eating fine which I am really glad about, but I’m stressed about the overall situation.
I have cleaned there cuts and flushed Po’s tooth clean it with a saline solution. I also split them up into different cages. Also if they are split up into different cages should I get them a new buddy each for company?
I am also about to call the vets for advice on what to do, but any reply here would be greatly appreciated.

Its a bit hard to tell by the description. Could you put up a photo? You did the right thing by splitting them up and calling the vets. They will be fine for a while without a buddy ( just give them lots of attention ) but the sooner you could get them back together, the better.

It would be best to have a vet check the teeth but you do need to ensure that the vet knows what they are doing with guinea pig teeth. @furryfriends (TEAS) has lots of experience when it comes to piggy teeth so can hopefully offer some advice

You can, of course, give them some time apart and attempt a neutral territory reintroduction in a day or so time, but once fights have occurred and their relationship deteriorated then more often than not, they will not go back together successfully again. They can live separately but next to each other to enable interaction through the bars as that will alleviate any loneliness.
Do be aware though that it is not simply a case of just going out and getting another piggy to put with each. Character compatibility is key to a successful bond so the piggies need to be correctly matched preferably via boar dating to ensure that they are going to want to be together and not result in further fights and more single piggies.
Cage size is a key factor when it comes to boars. Two boars, particularly teens, need a large cage to help give them enough space to reduce any tensions

Hi!

Please see a vet with a wobbly broken tooth. Incisors about 4 cm long and run way back along upper and lower jaw to their roots just in front of the back teeth, which are responsible for chewing and grinding dow the rough hay fibre that. The break can be well below the surface. Also keep an eye out in coming weeks in case one of the scratches or bites gets infected and forms an abscess.

Please don't be tempted to a knee-jerk reaction re. company; this is not the time anyway. Keep your boys alongside each other for mutual stimulation, while you research for your longer term plans once the strict pandemic restrictions have been lifted enough.
Take the time to read these guides here as your possible long term options and their various pros and cons:

Thanks for the advice, for now I will make sure they have lots of attention and love 💖
Will try rebounding but acept it if it doesn’t work out and get another c&c cage so both piggies have enough space
P.S sorry didn’t really want to get a picture as he is pretty stressed out and just is relaxing and sleepy
Thank you
