Hello

I have to 11 month old guinea pigs, named Grape and Raisin. Both are short hairs but Grape has super thick fur while Raisin does not. Grape weights 1.1 Kilograms and Raisin only weighs 1 Kilogram.I know that you are suppose to weigh guinea pigs, as well as check their ribcage. Raisin is perfect, she does not have to much fat or to little around her ribcage.
But Grape does, it is hard to feel her ribcage and I feed them both the same amount. A month ago Grape had to go off vegetables for 1 week, no weight was lost. So maybe its just her body type? Grape head also doesn't look proportionate to her body. Some days she looks pear shaped *she's not pregnant or bloated* other days she actually looks normal, regarding her head size and body size.
The guinea pigs usually consume 1 lettuce leaf, 1 bellpepper slice, random herbs such as dill or chamomile, cilantro, and or some cucumber a day. I try not to give them many treats. They also get a tablespoon of pellets a few times a week. They have hay 24/7 and I let them run around on the floor every few days. They have a large CC cage with a ramp.

So, I was just wondering if from this description, could Grape be to fat? Since I cant feel her ribcage I dont know what to think.

I don’t think she’s fat at all, I had a pig who was the same - very fluffy and very fat! Don’t worry too much about it :)
