Hello,
So, its been 3 weeks now and all this started with him limping/walking funny, and falling to one side constantly. I was concerned and brought him to the vet to only have them tell me that they think he had blisters at the bottom of his feet or something along the lines of that. They prescribed pain medication and told me that they couldn't find anything else wrong with him. Hes been eating but not drinking, and they said that it was unusual. A few days passed i had to bring him back to the vet because his limping seemed to get worse and they again told me it was something with his paws and nothing internally. They said his legs/hips were okay and his paws, and that his paws didn't seem to be fractured or broken. They ended up prescribing him a antibiotic, Enroflaxacin and after giving it him he seemed to get even worse, and brought him to the emergency center at 12 in the morning after seeing him dazed off. When i would pick him up his head would tilt back and i started seeing dried snot coming from his noes, this was new. When i brought him to the emergency center they told me the same thing, but when they touched his belly it seemed to hurt him and they said that hes bloated, but continued to tell me to keep doing what i was doing, plus ear drops for the little yeast that built up in his ear. They also thought that I might have dropped him, but i am the only one that holds him and i didn't drop him at all. And if he did make a little fall i would make sure if he was okay by checking his paws and looking all over, making sure he was okay, and not harmed at all. His current state hes not moving and when he does he seems to be struggling to move himself around. I'd walk by his cage to only see him moving his legs trying to get up and move but he cant seem to get up. He only lays on his right and not his left. (but still eating, and still not drinking)

I am sorry your guinea pig is not doing very well. To be honest he sounds quite ill, and you have done the right thing by taking him to a vet each time.
Unfortunately it sounds like the vet is not experienced with guinea pigs and he urgently needs to see one who is!

If you let us know roughly where you are based we can try and help direct you towards a decent vet who deals with guinea pigs.
Or in the green bar at the top of the page there is a 'Vet Locator'. If you type your postcode in this will bring up a list of recommended vets.

Hi and welcome!

I am very sorry for your problems. if it is neurological issue, then it can be very difficult to diagnose and will require an exotics rather than a general vet will little guinea pig experience. You are really doing your best.

I agree with @Swissgreys . There seems to be a balance issue.
We may be able to help you better if we know where in the world you are. We have members and enquiries from all over world with very different vet access and medical brand names.

Are you monitoring the weight daily instead of weekly? Over 80% of the daily food intake needs to be hay, which you cannot control by eye; veg should only make about 10% and pellets about 5%. Too high a percentage of veg can contribute to bloating issues if they are not caused by the same problem that is also causing the mobility/balance issues if it is sitting in the body.

Even if I take him to the vet, is there a good possibility for him to get better? or even recover if hes no longer moving? The thing is is that he is eating still and he doesn't seem too out of it, but just not moving. The thing is is that i cant afford another vet visit. The last 3 vet visits drilled into my account because of the pricey visits. It doesn't seem like hes bloated or anything because hes still eating and peeing, so he does have bowel movements, hes just not walking and drinking now. I make sure to give him watery veggies and syringe water into his mouth during the day to keep his body functioning, and hes 3 pounds on the dot and hasn't lost weight or anything. If anything because he hasn't been walking and moving, hes gain a little weight but nothing too crazy. His constant state his him laying on his right side.
What else can I do if I cant afford another visit?
Thank you for your response.
